Dr Shane Smith
Chief Executive Officer
Shane is an experienced innovator in medical technologies with a 10-year track record of business success and entrepreneurship. He earned his Master’s in Medical Bio-Business and a PhD in Medical Sciences from University of Aberdeen. After his post-graduate studies, Shane worked in a number of small to large sized biotech companies, working his way up to a C-level position at BioCyto Ltd. He is a director of PanEuro Venture Partners and sits on a number of high-growth company boards.
Prof. Eoin Scanlan
Chief Scientific Officer & Co-founder
Eoin is an accomplished organic and medicinal chemist with over 60 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. He leads an international research team in Trinity College with a focus on biomolecular synthesis, including peptides, proteins and glycoconjugates toward the development of novel therapeutics, diagnostics and biomaterials. Eoin is a PhD graduate of the University of St. Andrews and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Oxford.
Prof. Paula Colavita
Chief Technical Officer & Co-founder
Paula has unique experience in the design and development of advanced functional materials. She is the author of over 80 publications in international journals and co-inventor of two patents and leads a research team at Trinity College Dublin, whose activities focus on understanding and achieving control of interfacial processes and reactions. Paula completed her PhD at the University of South Carolina and carried out postdoctoral research work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Dr Silvia Fogli
Head of Projects
Silvia Fogli holds a MSc in Supramolecular, Materials and Nanosystems Chemistry and a PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Florence. Her postgraduate research focused on the characterisation of amphiphiles in solution as well hybrid supramolecular assemblies that combine inorganic and organic nanostructures, such as functional nanoparticles and liposomes. She is an expert in physico-chemical characterisation of soft-matter and in 2017 she was also the recipient of the Procter & Gamble Award at the European Student Colloid Conference.
